Economic Policy Specialist

As an Economic Policy Specialist, you will help shape policy positions through research, analysis, and strategic insight. Working closely with industry stakeholders, members, and external partners, you’ll translate complex economic, fiscal, and trade issues into evidence-based recommendations that influence decision-making, advocacy, and long-term economic impact.

Our client, based in Johannesburg, is seeking a Specialist in Economic Policy to join their Economic team. This is a member‑facing and externally focused role, providing technical, analytical, and coordination support. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting applied research, supporting policy analysis, coordinating stakeholder inputs, and preparing reports and materials that contribute to evidence‑based advocacy.

Pay

R400,000.00R500,000.00 per year

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Economic Policy, Public Policy, Development Economics, or a related field (postgraduate qualification advantageous)
2–4 years’ relevant experience in economics, finance, business management, or related fields
Solid understanding of economic, fiscal, and trade policy frameworks
Knowledge of legislative, regulatory, and policy processes
Strong research, analytical, and report‑writing skills
Familiarity with stakeholder consultation processes
