The Senior Specialist: Energy & Environment is a strategic, member-facing role focused on advancing sustainable economic development through policy research, stakeholder engagement, and advocacy. Working across environmental and energy matters, the successful candidate will contribute to high-level national and international discussions while representing the interests of industry.

Our esteemed client is seeking a motivated Senior Specialist to join their Energy & Environment team. This is a member-facing, externally focused role with direct engagement at both national and international levels.The successful candidate will be part of a high-impact team advancing inclusive growth, competitiveness, and sustainable economic development. This role is 80% environment-focused and 20% energy-focused, supporting policy research, stakeholder engagement, and advocacy at the highest levels.

Pay

R700,000 - R800,000Per Annum (CTC)

Negotiable depending on experience

Key Responsibilities:

Provide expert research and policy analysis across environmental & energy policy developments.
Draft policy submissions, position papers, and reports.
Coordinate committees and working groups.
Support projects that advance sustainable economic development.

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Science, Engineering, Law, Environmental Studies, or related field (postgraduate advantageous).
Minimum 5 years’ relevant experience in energy/environmental policy.
Strong research, writing, and stakeholder engagement skills.
Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.
